Inspiring Others with Our Passion
In today’s world, gun safety isn't commonly taught in schools, and fewer kids are growing up hunting. For those without family or friends to introduce them to this passion from a young age, it can be hard to know where to begin. This concern inspired us to create Midwest Flyways.
Our mission is simple: we want to share our passion for waterfowl hunting with as many people as possible. By sharing what we learn along the way, we hope to help others experience the joy of those unforgettable moments. If we can inspire just one person to enjoy waterfowl hunting, we believe that passion will continue to grow and make a lasting difference.
Joey & Cal
A bit about us
Joey
Joey grew up duckhunting with his dad and his friends well before he was able to shoot birds. To say that it is in his blood is an understatement. He was fortunate enough to have been taught how to waterfowl hunt by some of the best people and started solo hunting at the age of 14 in his backyard before and after school.
There were several years Joey didn’t hunt due to hanging out with friends chasing girls and partying. However, when you got back into waterfall hunting at 18, he was more passionate about it than he had ever been in his entire life. This reignited his personal relationship with God. Joey loves taking people hunting who have never done it before to show them why he is so passionate about it, and show them the great outdoors. “Everyone should be able to experience what it is like to watch the world wake up from a duck hole.”
Joey is married and has two kids that he cannot wait to bring out into the duck blind. He brought his wife and daughter out hunting on a river in Nebraska and Wyoming when she was only six months old. So to say he’s excited to pass the torch onto the next generation is a little bit of an understatement.
Cal
Cal is an avid waterfowl hunter who traded his passion for football for a passion in duck hunting. Growing up in the outdoors, fishing was the family habit. His brothers and dad are fly fishing nut jobs and they’ve chased fish all over the
world together. Cal’s goal is to grow Midwest Flyways to reach new waterfowl hunters in an effort to keep the waterfowl tradition alive and growing for
generations to come.
Fun fact: Cal loves to cook and enjoys chefing it up for the boys at duck camp. He and his wife Annie are busy new parents to their daughter and enjoy hanging with their dog, Finn.
